Andrew Aidan, Our Fighting Warrior!
Andrew Aidan and his dog Beemer have been the pride and joy of their parents, Michelle & Roi ever since they were born. AA loved to take walks outside, play with his best friend Beemer and his Thomas the Tank Engine set of toys along with any other plane, helicopter, car, truck toy he can get his hand on. For those that have met him, they saw the soul of a mature adult in the body of a sweet, loving boy with a beautiful smile. He bravely battled an aggressive, inoperable, rare form of brain tumor called Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor or AT/RT that spread to his spine as well. This type of cancer effects less than 50 children a year in this country. He has been an inspiration to us and we are sure he will be a vessel of motivation to those in similar situations. Thank you God for protecting our boy!
Thank You!

AA is on his way home now...we get the results hopefully by Friday. At work very upset...my company (TCHS) is NOT making an exception for me even with my situation in allowing my to carry over my PTO to next year. So now I have to take 3 weeks off in Dec in which I was saving in case AA ended up in the hospital. Don't understand how people could be so mean and insensitive....but all I have to say is that my child comes first and if that means that I lose my job if I need to take off to be with him then that it what it will be!!!

After a long torturous day, we are on our way home with great news....AA passed his hearing test and most importantly his tumor has shrunk once again :) One of the doctors even think what is left is only scar tissue and not the tumor BUT they do not want to take any chances and so AA will have 3 more rounds of Chemo with the 3 Stem Cell Transplant starting Dec 8...they said the next 3 months will be the hardest time in AA/our lives BUT for today we are going to enjoy the good news we received :)

AA's Mass For The Living Thank You
Good Morning To All,
We hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with their friends & loved ones. We would like to thank the friends and family that were able to attend AA's Mass For The Living yesterday, especially Michelle's parents Alicia & Hector for all the hard work they put into preparing the event. We also would like to thank those that helped in the clean up afterwards and Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church for helping us hold this event for AA. It was very nice to see so many people support our son as he gets closer to being cured. It was great to receive the prayers and blessings from the many in attendance and we would also like to thank Father Jack for his faithful prayers and support of AA.
Thank you so very much everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving
Every day is a wonderful time to celebrate the joys of life and love. Today is the day that most of us in this country take a moment to give thanks for all of the wonderful blessings that we have. We are especially happy for the lives we have and the blessing of having a son that is getting better with each day. We are also very happy for the wonderful support we have gotten from so many friends, family, co-workers and new friends that we acquired during this journey including the wonderful staff at Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Their great amount of support and experience in trying to save our son's life has been so appreciated. We are glad to see him progressing and hope that he will be cured soon. We have no idea what life would be without our boy and thankfully with their help we will not need to.
We look forward to giving you continued good news regarding AA's prognosis and the difference we KNOW he will make in helping other children with his positive results. Have a wonderful day with your loved ones!

Hello everyone,
Please view a sneak preview of the wonderful pictures taken during AA's recent photo shoot sponsored by Inspiration Through Art. Inspiration Through Art helps to tell the stories of little heroes and the struggles they battle with as they fight various childhood illnesses. We had a very nice time with Anel Martinez the photographer from Dreamscape Photography.
Thank you & enjoy.

AA's Mass For The Living-Please Confirm Attendance
Hope every one is having a wonderful Friday. Just want to remind everyone that there is a private Mass For The Living for AA and it is happening the Saturday after Thanksgiving. All The information is below or on the right hand side of the blog. If anyone would like to see us all and wish us luck and join us in prayer as we begin the next phase of chemo this would be a great time to do so. At this point we are requesting that those that would like to come, to please let us know that you are coming via e-mail. We need a confirmation because Michelle's mother & father, Alicia & Hector, will be providing refreshments and snacks afterwards and they would not want to over buy or fall short of items for all our lovely friends and family. We look forward to seeing you soon. Have a great day!

Happy Thursday Everyone
Hello Everyone! Hope you are all having a great week. We are soooo happy to have this time off from the hospital. AA has been doing much better this week. He has been acting like himself again, playing, talking, he even picked up a couple of new words, like purple, scissors and done. He has been getting occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy and special instruction. His therapy has been productive and he seems to be liking his therapists much more than when they started working with him three weeks ago. On another note he started to eat like himself again since yesterday, we are so happy since the last two weeks he was not eating his normal diet.

AA Loves Basketball
I just wanted to share this cool video of AA running around in the school park by our house. He was having a great time and really got a kick out of watching a guy play basketball. He really does show off the set of lungs that he has. I guess like father like son. I must warn you that you will have to lower the volume on your speakers if you are at work. He really does give Pavarotti a run for his money.

Thanks to the LeGar's (dog included) for coming out to support me and all the runners in this years NYC Marathon. Andrew is such a handsome little man! And the signs were great! The marathon was a great success and I look forward to running it again next year. The fundraising has gone very well. I expect to finish collecting all the funds before Friday. I was amazed by all the support I received for this cause. What is most important is that Andrew recovers from this battle. Money will not do this...but hopes and prayers and believing can! So let's keep thinking of AA and let's keep pulling for him.

Note about Internet Browsers
Hello Everyone,
It has come to our attention that certain aspects of our blog are not functioning properly. After reviewing some settings it may be an issue with Internet Explorer. I suggest trying Google Chrome. For some reason the blog works fine with Chrome and does not suffer the occasional temper tantrums that are faced with Internet Explorer. Chrome is really easy to install and best of all it's free. Search for Google Chrome and select the option to install it on your PC. Once installed you should enjoy our blog once again.
Sincerely,

PS. He is currently training for a position here in the Tech Department. ;-)
